We’re passionate that every dish should be made from local ingredients that have earned their place, each one telling its own story.

This particular pizza starts with one very special ingredient:

Ogleshield Cheese
Produced at Manor Farm, North Cadbury. A rich, washed-rind cheese made with Jersey cow’s milk, Ogleshield is buttery, nutty, and deeply savoury ... Somewhere between the comfort of Cheddar and the elegance of alpine cheeses. When it hits the heat, it becomes something truly special.

We’re pairing it with carefully chosen Somerset ingredients:

Thick cut pork chop, with a perfectly ripe flat peach, poached gently in a rosemary simple syrup, served on a bed of creamy, herby, parmesan polenta and a final scattering of caramelised onion petals, because Sunday's are meant for spoiling yourself before the chaos of the week begins again 🩷

arm roasted butternut squash rings, filled with Creamy, salty mashed ricotta and feta cheese, topped with a simple dressed red apple, fennel & rocket salad and a final scattering of caramelised pecans ... Each flavour balances itself out perfectly ... Sweet, savoury, salty and soft, with a little crunch from the nuts, the perfect light bite, or side to serve alongside garlic butter rroasted spatchcock chicken and a side of green beans and asparagus.

I love the flavours of this butternut squash recipe together ... This actually works well served butter board style too (see next photo), serving chunks of roasted butternut squash, rather than rings, on a gloriously overfilled platter to be scooped greedily on to savoury biscuits or bread 🩷

When it's just too hot to cook ... Layers of rich, rosemary infused porchetta on a bed of wild garlic mayonnaise, topped with creamy Taleggio cheese, all stuffed greedily into rosemary focaccia, served with a side of Italian Garlic Pickle ... There's no such thing as a boring sandwich in this house, only sandwich heaven 🩷

When Jack, the owner of @themumpmarketgarden invited me to explore the gardens, I knew exactly where to go first ... The Elephant Garlic Poly Tunnel! I've been intrigued about the idea of cooking with the garlic scape, rather than the bulb, for a few years. They've got such a short window and are generally discarded by growers when they are removed to allow the plant to focus it's energy into growing the bulb rather than flowering, but they are such a flavourful and versatile vegetable, it's seems a shame not to use them.

I wasted no time creating in the kitchen when I got home. The smell was absolutely amazing. Instagram really needs some kind of an aroma button 😂 ... I sautéed a bunch with some of Jacks beautiful spring onions to make a soup; simply roasted some to serve as a vegetable alongside some lamb; and made a really punchy garlic scape & mint pesto, which I stirred through creamy mashed potatoes ...

The next time I get my hands on more of these flavourful scapes, I think the flowers would work beautifully in a salad, and I'm also intrigued by the idea of pickling the scapes too, they would make a beautiful edition to a charcuterie board 🩷

Roasted Spatchcock Poussin, served with sweet and lightly spiced, Honey & Sumac Roasted Carrots with a Herby, Garlicky Yoghurt Sauce 🩷 ... I could cope with more Mondays like this for sure 😉

An impromptu stop at @themumpmarketgarden on the way home yesterday; and a challenge from the owner to show him what I can do with a large box of his beautifully fresh and seasonal, organically grown veg, inspired the first of a few new recipe creations. This is my very Somerset Prasopita , my version of a Greek Leek at Feta Pie. You wouldn't normally find peppers and courgettes in a Prasopita, but the freshness of the ingredients just made sense, especially when I discovered a block of Somerset produced @whitelakecheese Fetish, a barrel-aged Mediterranean-style sheep’s cheese in the well stocked fridge.

Nestled at the base of Somersets historic Burrow Mump, I can't tell you why we have driven past this place so many times and have never called in, but I can tell you we won't be making that mistake again! ... (Nor will I be making the mistake of wearing heels to a farm shop again, I think I made quite the entrance falling into the shop! 😂). This place is absolutely packed with beautifully fresh fruit and veg and a fab range of artisan produce from small scale local producers, it's a real treasure trove of foodie ingredients and well worth a visit 🩷

This is my new favourite way of crumbing chicken ... @lumaraglobal Curry Leaf Podi Wholewheat Ghee Crisps. I've talked about these gorgeous Lumara crisps before when I used them on a desi style cheese platter, and I also love to gift them too because they are so beautifully wrapped. However, recently I've started to think about how I can use them in my recipes. They have such a warm spice note running through them, and they lend themself so well to coating chicken. I like to serve these with a spicy fresh green chilli chutney 🩷

After patiemtly watching and waiting, my @growkitmushroom Lons Mane is finally ready to harvest, and it's grown so big!! I couldn't wait to make this easy vegan version of barbeque burnt ends with it. Lions Mane has a really meaty texture and caramelises beautifully in the pan and absorbs flavours really well, making it a perfect vegan alternative to steak.
